The 3rd annual Florida Local Food Summit is a weekend gathering September 8th, 9th & 10th our state's top food and farming entrepreneurs, policy makers, chefs, foodies and local food fans.  The Summit is your one stop shop for all things local food and farming.  There will be farm tours, advanced education, farm-to-table meals, a Grower's Festival, home gardening classes and so much more.  You aren't going to want to miss it!

Farm Tours for Farmers - FREE - Open to the Public

Thursday, September 8th, ALL DAY

The Kick-Off to the Florida Local Food Summit begins Thursday the 8th with farm tours throughout Central Florida. This is a chance for established and beginning farmers to come visit area farms and learn different methods and strategies of natural food production. Fleet Farming Swarm Ride - FREE- Open to the Public

Saturday, September 10th, 8:00am - 9:30am, Leaves from the East End Market

Join Fleet Farming for a Swarm Ride though Audubon Park! We will be meeting on bikes and riding to some of our local "farmlettles" for some light maintenance work. On the plots, we will share tips and tricks on how to urban farm! This is a family-friendly event, but children must be supervised by an adult. If you do not have a bike, you can most likely rent one from the Juice Bike Share stand outside of East End Market before we head out. The ride will last an hour and a half, so bring a sun hat and some water to stay cool. After the Swarm Ride, please join us for our talk "Growing Food Not Lawns!". We can't wait to farm with you.

Florida Food Policy Council Meeting

Sunday, September 11th, 12:00pm - 5:00pm, East End Market 

Join us as the Florida Food Policy Council makes its way around the state laying the foundation of an active, diverse, and grassroots organization! Our next membership meeting will engage in meaningful conversation surrounding the strengths and challenges we face in Florida in regards to the food system, participate in identifying the council's purpose, mission and goals, and receive updates on committee activity since the last meeting. An annual membership is $25 (with discounts given to students and organizations) and meeting attendance is free to members.
